Komerční pojišťovna held its position of No 2 on the life market throughout 2010

Komerční pojišťovna’s business results for 2010 confirm a year-on-year increase of 190% to CZK 8.68 billion in premium written in life assurance. With its market share of 12.3%, Komerční pojišťovna therefore closed 2010 as the second most important insurance company on the life market.

Compared with end-2009, Komerční pojišťovna climbed up four rungs. It achieved this significant success mainly thanks to clients’ increased demand for life products with one-off premium. Products with a guaranteed return also continue to be very attractive for clients.

“The end-2010 results reflect the trends that were visible in the first three quarters of the year. There are definitely quite a number of causes for our success, but the basis is the ability of Komerční banka, as our principal distributor, to successfully offer Komerční pojišťovna’s products to its clients. Our range of products on offer also met the expectations and needs of clients, who preferred long-term and secure, but also profitable solutions for saving their money,” said Stéphane Corbet, member of Komerční pojišťovna’s Board of Directors.

Last year, Komerční pojišťovna’s key products with a guaranteed return, Vital Invest and Vital Premium, brought clients a return of 3% p.a. and 3.3% p.a., respectively. Komerční pojišťovna offers clients a guaranteed return ranging from 2.5% p.a. to 2.8% p.a., depending on the type of the insurance product, also for 2011. The overall growth in value for 2011 can also be higher than the guaranteed minimum, depending on the insurance company’s results.
